Desire or Fear-YOU Decide! What are you afraid of?

Dear Sisters,

Twice/year most people get motivated to make changes in their lives. At the beginning of the year, some of us get excited to make some changes in our lives. These changes usually involve making New Year’s Resolution to improve our diet by eating healthier and exercising. Some of might even be tempted to make resolutions that will help us improve our income-perhaps we have considered starting our own business and dreamed about firing our boss…

The second time we get motivated is in the Spring. As the snow begin’s to melt, the flowers start to grow and we see color again for the first time in several months. We start planning our vacation’s. Perhaps go on vacation during Spring break with our family. We might even be tempted to renew our New Year’s Resolutions so we can fit into last year’s bathing suit or go shopping for a new one…

Does this sound like you? If so, what is stopping you? I have one idea. The #1 thing that stop’s most people from taking action is…FEAR! What are we afraid of? Failure? The unknown? What other people will think of us? Are we afraid that we just might succeed?

Wellness Wednesday…

Dear Sisters,

My ‘plan’ and ‘intention‘ was to post a ‘new’ blog on Wednesday  that would help you to improve your ‘wellness,‘ BUT I ‘kept’ putting it off even though I had all day to do it yesterday…I think I put this off because there was a parade in Cleveland celebrating something about a National basketball championship that has not happened in 52 years…(I didn’t go to the parade, but I did watch it on TV and saw the pictures that ‘my friends’ posted on Facebook.)

I am posting today as a reminder to me and you that one of the purposes of ‘wellness’ is to do the small things every day that contribute to it. 

What is the definition of wellness? It is: the state or condition of being in good physical and mental health.

How do we accomplish this? I believe there are as many answers as there are people. All of us have our own definition based on our own personal experiences. 

I want to keep this simple:

Plan. How many of you have heard it said that when you fail to plan, you plan to fail? All of us have a purpose for living. Determine what your purpose is. I can assure you that procrastination will contribute to depression and regret.

One of my friends is fond of the quote: Our decisions determine our destiny. What I want to know is what determines the decision that we make? I believe that it is our…DESIRES!

Start with answering the question: What do I desire? Then Decide what you are going to do to accomplish it. DO your homework and then take action! 

Intentionally doing the small things every day that will contribute to that. Mother Teresa is quoted as saying that we can do no great things only small things with great love.

Most of you know that one of my favorite scriptures from: The Book of Mormon is: Alma 37:6… small and simple things are great things brought to pass; and small means in many instances doth confound the wise.

One drop of rain will never amount to much, but if a lot of drops of rain fall all at once or over time, a puddle, flooding can occur-if it is focus or contained, a small lake will form.

Now is the best time to get started on achieving your goals and dreams. It will make a difference in your life and it could help to inspire someone to follow your example.

Keep on moving forward so you will not have any regrets. Step by step. Drop by drop. Word by word. (Assuming you are writing a book or a blog.) I guarantee that your emotional, physical and spiritual health will improve.

Yesterday is gone, tomorrow is not promised so choose to live today. You never know when your last day will be. So STOP PROCRASTINATING and...
